Any suggestions for my french horn audition?
So basically, I have a really big french horn audition coming up and have a few questions I'd like input on.Here's the deal Been playing since I was10 or 11 I'm 16 and for how long I'm playing, I wouldn't consider myself great. Most of the time I've been playing, I've had braces. So my audition's in mid April, and the orthodontist guessed that I'd get my braces off about a month from now though orthodontists seem to be bad at guessing these things . If, next time I see her, she offers to remove them, should I do it? Or is it too close to the audition? Like, do I have enough time to readjust and take the advantages of being bracesless or should I keep them until afterwards?Another thing is that I have terrible accuracy. I've been told my tone and style is moderate if not good, but I often just completely play the wrong notes. I can hear the note in my head and I can approximately feel how my lips should be, but... I don't know. It just comes out wrong sometimes. And sometimes it just DOESN'T come out. I think it started when I got my braces on 4 years ago, and it's gotten better but still happens. And there's not much that I've found I can do. Anyone have any suggestions? Any experiences with this? Will getting my braces off help?I'm playing the 3rd movement from french horn concerto no. 3 my last audition was the second movement for county honor band... which I didn't make So any suggestions?Yes, it's the mozart concerto.
I need an interesting/challenging piece for french horn?
I had district band this weekend and it was really fun and it helped me see how much fun working on more difficult music can actually be. Now I'm a little afraid that I'm going to go back to concert band on Tuesday and be bored out of my mind. I mean, let's face it, we're playing an Abbey Road arrangement and Michael Buble.I've been through the Mason Jones solo book without much of an issue. At districts we did the Hunsberger arrangement of Star Wars and I've done Silverado in honors band... So something around that difficulty level maybe would be nice?

French horn lever problems?
okay so this problem started about a month ago, it was like every once in a while a lever would stay down after I took my finger off. But it's gotten worst and worst. now every time I hit the first or third lever, they get stuck, and sometimes if I add some pressure they come back up, but sometimes they don't. And I don't know much about the french horn b c I only started playing in like august. so what do I do? is the a common problem? what is the problem???

French Horn repair cost?
I fell with my french horn and it dropped in its case. It's actually a double horn. All of the tubes are shifted a bit because the stick that hold it there broke off. And where one tube hits the bigger tube near the bell is dented a little. Because of the shift, by thumb key is off. It can still play, but it needs to be fixed. Sorry, I don't know the official names of all the parts I described...
